WALZPUNKT Retrofit Max
The supreme discipline: a complete conversion of the five-roll mills for about 25 % of a new machine.
The mechanics of the roller mills from the 1980s and 1990s are excellent and remain repairable. After 30 to 40 years, however, electronics, sensors, hydraulics and cooling are a risk of unplanned downtime. The Retrofit Max is the complete conversion: a new Siemens touch HMI, a new PLC, PROFINET for sensors and actuators, a frequency converter for the main motor and servo drives for the roll adjustment. Hydraulics and water cooling are renewed, TLS and the emergency stop circuit are integrated. Hardware, software and project coordination come from a single source.
Realisation within 4 to 8 months, conversion on site in 3 to 4 weeks. The cost is about 25 % of a new machine, and the service life afterwards 10 to 20 years.
